Structure-aromaticity-spectroscopy relationship in conjugated polymers

نویسندگان

چکیده

In this study, an effort has been made to analyze the aromaticity of oligomers phenylenes and thiophenes, with presence absence linkers using Nucleus-Independent Chemical Shift (NICS) as a descriptor. The relation between HOMO–LUMO gaps, reorganization excitation energies respective NICS values employed develop structure-aromaticity-conjugation spectroscopy relationship (SACSR). Results show that gaps/excitation various model systems exhibit linear relationships inverse values, indicating possible existence SACSR.

Band-structure engineering in conjugated 2D polymers.

Conjugated polymers find widespread application in (opto)electronic devices, sensing, and as catalysts. Their common one-dimensional structure can be extended into the second dimension to create conjugated planar sheets of covalently linked molecules. Extending π-conjugation into the second dimension unlocks a new class of semiconductive polymers which as a consequence of their unique electroni...

Aromaticity/Antiaromaticity in Cyclic Conjugated Hydrocarbons

The physical reason for aromaticity/antiaromaticity was determined. The conclusion was reached after interpreting Hobey's mathematical results that were given in the study of the energy difference between the one-dimensional linear and cyclic particles-in-a-box models. We first revealed that the Huckel theory and particles-in-a-box model are simply different ways of solving the same Schr6dinger...

Energy migration in conjugated polymers: the role of molecular structure.

Conjugated polymers undergo facile exciton diffusion. Different molecular structures were examined to study the role of the excited state lifetimes and molecular conformations on energy transfer. There is a clear indication that extended fluorescence lifetimes give enhanced exciton diffusion as determined by fluorescence depolarization measurements. These results are consistent with a strong el...

Structure—Property Relationships for Exciton Transfer in Conjugated Polymers

The ability of conjugated polymers to function as electronic materials is dependent on the efficient transport of excitons along the polymer chain. Generally, the photophysics of the chromophore monomer dictate the excited state behavior of the corresponding conjugated polymers. Different molecular structures are examined to study the role of excited state lifetimes and molecular conformations ...
